A good start. But what should I do next?

Hi,

My first post here. Glad to see that there is a very active community here.

Started trading exactly 2 years ago and made good returns with stocks like $RHM (+4,71 %)
$RCL (-0,2 %)
$NVDA (-1,62 %) achieved good returns.

But what's next?

I am in many individual stocks. What I lack is an exit strategy. Does anyone have any tips on how to go about this?

I would also like to move more towards ETFs, I am hardly interested in the classic MSCI World. I would like a little more excitement or focus. Any ideas?

If you want more fun, excitement and chocolate, buy a surprise egg...

The stock market is not all fun, games and excitement... you want to make as much money as possible. Even with boring world ETFs if necessary. Sector ETFs may or may not work. In my opinion, your current ETF weighting doesn't make sense because it's too small. Either increase it to 60-70%, or focus only on individual stocks...

Hello Mat ... Realizing profits is at least my strategy. I once had 40 Rheinmetall shares at the peak, but from a time when I bought them for EUR 50. As of today, I'm down to 10, because it feels like I've sold some every EUR 1-200 plus. Not because I no longer believe in it, but so that I don't - like you - have almost 20% of my portfolio concentrated on one share.

That costs capital gains tax, but only because I've made a nice return on capital. So it works for me. Reinvesting the profits in other things ... reduces the portfolio at first, but what good is it for me to see how much they have risen now if such individual stocks in particular will go back down to 20 in two months' time.

So my approach: individual stocks yes (I also have ETFs and funds), but make sure that they don't usually account for more than 10% of the portfolio ... In my case, only Rheinmetall currently exceeds 10%. Realize the profit, it's also a good feeling :)

@Bojack That's exactly why I'm asking. The weighting in my portfolio is now too high for me and I'm wondering whether I should partially get out. I think I'll sleep on it for a night and think about which etf I can invest the money in.
