Financial and insurance shares

Hello everyone 👋

I am pursuing a dividend growth strategy and would like to supplement this with insurance stocks / financial stocks. Insurance companies are exciting candidates for me due to their stable business models and solid dividend policy.

I am particularly interested in:

  • Which insurance stocks do you currently have in your portfolio to complement your dividend strategy?
  • Which companies do you see as reliable for dividend growth in the long term?
  • Are there currently any interesting entry opportunities from a valuation or market perspective?

Some candidates that I am already looking at:

I'm looking forward to your opinions, tips and experiences - I'm also happy to hear about lesser-known titles from the insurance sector!

$ALV currently in the savings plan since I have been running the dividend portfolio
and have also had a position in $SREN and $SLHN for some time (I couldn't decide between the two at the time - so the amount was split 50:50 at the time). I had bought them back then as a bet on a turnaround in the growth stock portfolio after they had slipped considerably. But it's now been more than 20 years since I've had them in my portfolio and I haven't regretted it to this day.
$TLX would also be worth a look - but I don't have it in my portfolio myself, but I've already loved it.

@Dividenden-Sammler Thanks for your contribution :) $TLX is rather overrated, isn't it?

@Dividenden-Sammler wow 20 years in the portfolio 😮 how much are you up then?

@Max095 are both multibaggers, whereby $SLHN is by far my best position in the mid 4-digit percentage range in the plus). I added the same amount during the financial crisis, which was great in hindsight, and have 5k each as entry costs. Actually, my exit scenario would have been reached a long time ago, but due to the low interest rate phase at the time and the subsequent trading problem with Swiss shares in the EU, I fortunately did not reduce it and I am now happy about a personal dividend yield of around 50% at $SLHN and around 30% at $SREN measured against my entry costs (calculated gross in each case). As I have already written, I did not actually buy the shares because of the dividend. And of course you can be annoyed that you didn't put more in at the time - but during the financial crisis I spread my capital across almost all my positions at the time to buy more. Some with more success, others with less, as it turned out later.

@Dividenden-Sammler very strong! 🚀Congratulations on that. I would never sell these shares either.

$PROT as an exotic that has done very well so far, $UBSG as a safe haven in uncertain times?

Why are you thinking about buying expensive insurance stocks when $UNH is currently 50% below all time high.

@Roman_moed I already have it in my portfolio and am adding to it via a savings plan.

I recently had $VIG which I sold after it had performed 40% and then exchanged it for $UQA. I find it super interesting for both price potential and div.

Didn't you have $LMND in mind
Imagen de perfil
@Tenbagger2024 no, you must have me confused
Imagen de perfil
@Tenbagger2024 that was me 😁, @Max095 you should take a look if you're looking for a smaller company with growth potential ✌️. Running away from me right now, procrastinated too long.

@BamBamInvest Do you see long-term potential there?

@Max095 Yes, of course, they increase and scale the margins very strongly with AI. Here if you want to get an idea.

@BamBamInvest I also think $LMND is great. I wanted to buy it at the end of last week
and then the rise came. But I'm still thinking about making a first entry next week.

@Multibagger my thoughts 😁I felt the same way, will continue to run as long as the market continues to rise or holds up. I'm still thinking about getting in with a first position. I'm thinking of getting into a position and adding to it in the event of a setback in the summer. RSI is already at 75 . As there is no trading tomorrow and I am assuming a green market, I will probably wait for the market to weaken and then pick up. Let's see

How do you see $CLSK?

@Tenbagger2024 I'm on the $IREN team here, but $CLSK will probably also run when $BTC is up and running, but not an investment for me. The pure Bitcoin miners will have a hard time in the long run, even if they hold $BTC. I prefer a direct $BTC investment or companies that use their cash flow to start buying $BTC and then hold it on their balance sheet. I like the transformation of $IREN with their huge capacity/performance, power contracts, alternative energy generation and AI data center/Nvidia partnership. At some point, they'll land a colocation deal and then the knot will burst. 🚀
