Billion-euro order for Airbus from Asia: 20 aircraft ordered

$AIR (-0,98 %)
$MTX (+0,21 %)

The Vietnamese low-cost airline Vietjet, a popular low-cost airline, has ordered 20 new A330neo aircraft from Hamburg-based aircraft manufacturer Airbus. The airline plans to use these aircraft to expand its fleet and extend its network, particularly in Southeast Asia and towards Europe, according to the Hamburger Abendblatt. MTU, an important supplier for Airbus, is also involved in this deal as they are involved in the development and manufacture of the aircraft engines.

The order for the A330neo aircraft by Vietjet is a significant order for Airbus and underlines the demand for efficient and low-emission aircraft in the low-cost airline market. The A330neo offers greater range and efficiency compared to older models, which will be beneficial for Vietjet as it expands its network. Vietjet's choice of the A330neo also demonstrates confidence in Airbus' technology and reliability, according to the Hamburger Abendblatt.

It would be interesting to know when delivery is planned. I believe that the order books at $AIR are full for the next 10 years.

Can probably join the back of the queue. With 820 aircraft planned for 2025 and an order backlog of 8,600 aircraft, it will take 10 years. But my employer is gradually trying to push up the rate (aircraft/year).
But the A330 family is one of the least built. In 2024, 32 were built in total.
