@Yoshika nuclear energy is the best kind of clean energy.

@ClaraLvt
Absolutely. Especially when approved by a guy who thought wind turbines cause cancer.

@Yoshika if Germanys politicians weren’t bought by Russians in the past you wouldn’t have to buy French nuclear energy now 🙃

@ClaraLvt
Fun fact: France has been importing power lately, due to recurring issues with its nuclear fleet.

@Yoshika no it as not. France make a surplus in energy while 4% of energy used in Germany comes only from France. You can’t change the fact that nuclear is the most reliable source of clean energy and many nations are starting to realise that, Japan, South Korea, danmerak ect

@Yoshika
Not against nuclear... Just against the idea of approving reactors under a system where two safety rules get scrapped for every political shortcut ..and where even the EPA and NRC, both still standing in 2025, are now weakened by budget cuts, restructurings, and direct political interference. That’s not a regulatory environment I’d trust with radioactive decisions.

@Yoshika
Just to add ..even if somewhat peripheral: France was a net power importer in ’22 and more than unstable in ’23. Germany’s recent 4% imports don’t prove nuclear reliability or reflect stability, just grid mechanics. France’s output remains anything but predictable.

But also, interesting take from Switzerland ..blaming German politics while staying outside the EU grid framework and its regulatory burden, happily enjoying the electricity every time the Alps freeze over. All the perks, none of the headaches. Convenient view.

Coming from a country that quietly managed Russian capital for decades, no questions asked, just clean vaults and tidy fees, is a bold move to throw corruption claims at German politics without a shred of evidence.

Convenient neutrality, selective outrage.

@Yoshika I never said that the management of oligarchs money was a morally good thing… And it is widely known that Gerhard Schröder was paid by the Kremlin to shut down the nuclear power plant since after leaving politics he was working close with putin
