Nu's earnings call went well! Why is the stock falling?

$NU (-11,11 %) today reported net income of 87% over the same period last year and reported adjusted net income of $610 million for the quarter ended December, above the $567 million estimated by analysts in an LSEG survey, so that's more than expected!

Stocks are a marathon, not a sprint. I am not unsettled but curious. Why does the stock drop in such a case?

Why do good figures scare off investors? 🤔

1. sales fell short by more than 10%
2. customer growth was slower (extrapolated only 15%pa)
3. percentage of active users has fallen
4. deposits have not increased
5. brazilian customers have used less credit

It's actually quite simple. The market obviously expected more

Strictly speaking, this is called sell on good news. The share has performed extremely well since the end of last year. Expectations were high. And if the figures then only meet expectations, or are just below them in some areas, profits are secured for the time being. I see the same thing happening on Monday with $HIMS. The only difference is that I think the correction will be more than 2-3%. But that doesn't change the fact that they are both good companies in the medium term.

@Multibagger $HIMS with $NU is an apples and oranges comparison.

@Caynify This was all about the reaction to the figures. If expectations are not clearly exceeded in the current market phase, things will go downhill. I am aware that the two companies have different business areas and are at different points in their business development. I could have used $NVDA instead of $HIMS. If they don't clearly exceed expectations in the past and the outlook, things will go downhill.
