Best etf

I recently found out that the s&p500 etf I bought $VUSA (+1,54 %) poorly track the actual index. Do you have any etf recommendations for s&p500 etf in Chf for Swiss citizens?

The fund has a tracking error of just 0.02%, indicating it closely mirrors the performance of the S&P 500. The discrepancy you're noticing between the fund's returns and those of the index is primarily due to currency fluctuations. The fund is traded in Swiss francs, and since the U.S. dollar has depreciated this year, the fund's price appears lower when converted. Hope this helps

@Fl_ow it’s horrible, compare it to the actual index and you’ll want to change. Someone commented $IUSA and it tracks way better

The US version of $VUSA from Vanguard would be $VOO. As a Swiss resident you can buy it using Interactive Brokers.

@SatsStacker do you own any? Because I read that the taxes are higher but I don’t know if it’s bs or not? I really want to get out of vusa since it’s down 9%yoy while the others are in the black

@ClaraLvt Are you sure you are comparing them in the same currency? Nothing seems to be wrong with the Vanguard ETF but the USD/CHF exchange rate is down around that much since Trump took office.

@DoppelSchlechtMinus I am stupid haha that’s probably it. Thanks

@ClaraLvt Yes, I do.
Regarding taxes, you fill out the DA-1 form to reclaim the withholding tax. Overall, for a Swiss resident, a US-domiciled S&P 500 ETF is more tax-efficient than an Ireland-domiciled S&P 500 ETF, as the latter results in a 15% loss on dividends due to withholding tax.

ThePoorSwiss wrote an article about it:
