I decided to completely sell out of this position.

This is for two reasons. One, I'd rather continue to building my core ETFs like $SPLG , $SCHD and/or further add to $O (-2,13 %) . It is maybe even time to consider adding $QQQM .

Second, I don't think that the dividend payout of 15% is sustainable in the long-run, it has been so far, but I don't want to be in the position of hoovering over the SELL button and wait for the dividend announcement.

This also goes towards trimming the portfolio down to a few positions that one doesn't have to monitor too closely...

What do you think? Do you or did you own $AGNC (+0,11 %) ?

Happy investing, happy compounding!

Without knowing AGNC, your reasoning sounds good to me and I would also be skeptical about a company with that kind of dividend yield.

@DieEnte7 It actually looks like their payout ration was about 60%, which doesn't seem to be too bad. Anyways, trying to get more money into the ETFs and stocks that I know I want to keep long-term seemed the smarter choice. In addition, stock picking is just too risky 🤪

The dividends were considerably high from 2014-2017 (maintaining ~12% yield) when the interest rates were low. The dividends started to fall as the interest rates rose. Given that the rate are starting cut again, I find it a good steady monthly income for the next 2 years at least.
