In cooperation with Amazon Web Services (AWS) $AMZN (+1,33 %) the company is developing technologies to optimize locations for mobile phone masts and to encrypt communication.

These findings will flow into the development of the future 6G-standard. Quantum computing offers considerable advantages in terms of speed, especially when it comes to encryption.

Uhhhh... do the parts already exist in the wild?
These are all just lab tests, all the benchmarks that have been published seem like window dressing.
The only thing these things can do at the moment is generate large quantities of random numbers.
Where did they get the computer from, who built it and where does the software come from?

@PowerWordChill the Amazon quantum computer web service is called "Braket", the hardware behind it is described here:

(e.g. $IONQ, $RGTI )

My opinion: Commercially, quantum computing is still limited to very specific applications. Manufacturers make little to no profit.
However, as physics inevitably places limits on "classic" chip design, the technology has long-term potential, even if only as a supplementary component in today's IT landscapes. However, I do not see a revolutionary upheaval in the next 10 years; the majority of the global compute workload will continue to be handled by the much cheaper, traditional chip architectures. Nevertheless - I have a small position in $QBTS in my portfolio. Did quite well in Q4 due to increased newsfeed ...
