Saw the opportunity to get rid of Intel

Today I finally received the signal that I was waiting for. I decided to sell out of $INTC (+2,81 %) at a 31% loss. I bought this company back in 2021 when they were doing 78B in revenue and 21B in net earnings. This year they made 53B and -19B. I have been wanting to get out of this position for 2 years and today I finally made the call.

There are plenty of better opportunities at the moment out there. It can be psychologically hard to sell at a loss but if you think you can then move that money into amazing companies which create shareholder value instead of destroying it.

For me that opportunity is $MSFT (-1,98 %) at current levels, so I moved all the proceeds of the sell into $MSFT (-1,98 %) I have no doubt my money will fare way better as of today as opposed to just waiting for a miracle CEO to turn $INTC (+2,81 %) around.

I'm considering doing the same, as I follow the rule of never losing money. However, I believe that with the remaining sale value, I can recoup the loss and achieve better results than simply waiting for Intel to appreciate.

And if you take a closer look you can very easily see why $INTC is going trough rough times.. They made no illusion that the years until at least 2027 would be very rough due to investments to try to close the gap with competitors.. In this industry it's not something that is done in a couple of years.

I fully understand fellow investors that see better investment opportunity's. But what's happening on the balance sheet cannot be a surprise for anyone... I'm more than happy to hold my position in $INTC for at least another decade.

I understand but I really dont see any scenario in which $INTC doesn’t underperform the market.

Fair enough! and it's been an absolute shit show last years I certainly agree on that.
