Hello getquin,

Mercedes delivers fewer cars, Twitter deal canceled and India overtakes China in population! Here's what's on your MarketNews today.

Europe🌍:

1. Mercedes delivers fewer cars.

Mercedes-Benz sales fell sharply in the second quarter due to a shortage of computer processors and the Corona closure in China. Mercedes-Benz said Monday that the Stuttgart-based automaker delivered 490,000 fewer passenger cars, or 16 percent, from April to June than in the same period last year.

Production and deliveries were slowed by a shortage of parts and transportation problems caused by the Chinese lockdown, which affected the key commercial port in Shanghai, for example. This also affected the highly profitable top models, especially at the AMG sports car division, where electronic chips were missing. China, the most important single market, recorded the biggest drop in sales, down 25% to 163,700 units. In Europe, sales were down 10% to 154,300 cars.
