I was always a supporter of this ETF... now, when I look at the performance over the last few years, I'm toying with the idea of selling it. It will be difficult to outperform the world, especially as I can imagine that some stocks will correct under Trump. In addition, I am only convinced by the companies that I have detailed information about, i.e. Eli Lilly, Novo, Vertex, which are all in the World anyway.

@xzxzx in fact, the health Care ETF has outperformed the World by far and even the s&p 500 since 1993. Since then, Health Care has grown by 1800%, the s&p 500 by "only" 1250%. The World is likely to be significantly lower. Only in recent years has the health care sector not quite kept pace, that's true.

That is precisely my investment case. A bet that this will change again.

Then give me the ISIN. I can't find one that has even come close to outperforming a world over 1993 (?). Most sector ETFs have only been around since 2010-2015 and they have all outperformed by worlds

@xzxzx I am referring to the S5HLTH index. It started in 1993 and ETFs that track it have of course not been around that long. However, this is not the index's fault and in fact it has risen significantly more overall. Especially in the first 20 years. Backtests are of course no guarantee for future expectations and it has not managed to do so in the last 10 years. Now I am curious to see whether this will change again.

You need to take a closer look, my dear. The Nasdaq, for example, has outperformed every hc etf - I would have been surprised if it had been any different. And over the last 10-15 years alone, the nasdaq has quadrupled - quintupled the hc at most doubled. So it's hard for me to imagine that this should change over 10-20 years, there can/will always be various periods but over the long term it's hard to imagine. Unless hc replaces the tech sector

@xzxzx Who is talking about the NASDAQ here? That was never mentioned. I made the comparison between the HC Index and the S&P 500 Index. And if you had invested money in both in 1993 (assuming the tracking ETF 93 had existed), you would still have more returns from the HC today. And significantly more than with the World.
Unfortunately I can't insert a picture of the chart in the answers, otherwise I would have liked to show you here.

Of course, there have always been windows of opportunity when things were different, and we have one of those right now. If you invest anti-cyclically, this is a possible entry point.
