@GoDividend In the meantime, rents have also risen. But they are still within reasonable limits compared to large cities and their surrounding areas

@ScorpionfromBW I pay more than four times the basic rent for almost twice the size

@Johann_van_der_Smut I find everything over €7 too expensive 😅

@KevinE Where do you live? Karl Marx City?

@Johann_van_der_Smut 2013-2018: Hildesheim - 510€ warm for 70m2 (very nice location, but was too expensive for me), 2 people.
2018-2020: 370€ warm for 42m2 in Wuppertal, alone.
2020 - 2023: Bonn, 62 m2, 380€ cold / 600€ warm, 2 people.
2024 ongoing: Saarland, 196m2, 2 people, 1,100€ cold, 1240€ warm.

Unfortunately, I can't remember the rents for the first apartments.

@KevinE Well, of course Munich can't keep up with these places... 😉😬

@Johann_van_der_Smut I think one thing above all else about expensive cities: distance 😄

I cut my salary by 50% from day 1 after graduating (savings rate). Some places are naturally rather unfavorable 🫠
