why do so few people here invest in shares like $CVX (+0,92 %) or $XOM (+1,16 %) ? Don't you think that we will be dependent on crude oil for decades to come? and not just in terms of fuel

@Besc it's not about the generation of electricity. it's much more about the fact that crude oil is a component of many products in our everyday lives that simply cannot be produced with wind

Of course we will depend on oil in the next hundred years, the alternative are weak.

For me, both price and dividend growth are too low for oil stocks. There are so many better alternatives outside the sector.

What's more, this is an industry that I don't see (or rather hope for) as too promising from an environmental point of view and it would be stupid to invest in a company whose continued existence you are betting against 😂

@ad_absurdum I don't think there are many companies that invest as much money in environmental protection as oil companies, so they themselves know that oil won't be their source of income forever. Shell, for example, has wind power and electric pumps and Exxon wants to get into lithium, etc.

Doesn't anyone stop you from spending your money?
Do you think we are less dependent on water or other foodstuffs?
Producing electricity from surplus to synthesize other substances would also be an option.
You're allowed to choose your own preferences👍.

Can you see on GQ how many people are invested in a particular stock or Etf ?

Or else how do you come to This conclusion ?
