@RaphGM I wonder if this will spill over to other major markets (Asia, South America). I doubt it will happen in North America.

There is a specific reason why this happens now in France:
Back in October the French national assembly voted to ask the retailers and industrials to move the price negotiations forward to benefit the consumers because the inflation prices are now down.
This due date is the 31st of January 2024.
So I guess PepsiCo and Carrefour (and soon maybe others) are arm wrestling before that date.
