Actually, I was supposed to establish a stable investment in Norfolk Southern. After my first investment in $NSC (+3,07 %) (550€), however, the share has risen to its last ATH since November last year.

As the only profit taking in my portfolio, I am selling the stock after a 28% gain (as I said, unfortunately the position was smaller than originally planned) to invest these gains in $NKE (+3,94 %) Nike and $O (+3,39 %) Realty Income.

I can't give a really well-founded opinion on the individual shares. I don't know them well enough for that.
Only the macroeconomic outlook in the USA doesn't look so rosy, especially for commercial real estate and consumption. I would have given commodity logistics a better chance with rising inflation.
But as always, individual companies could also decouple from this. 🤷

@Epi therefore (very small) profits were taken. The rail/rail sector is cyclical and its profits should be invested differently 😅😉

@Epi Yes, but not every cycle is the same. While I think I can build an interesting position in Realty Income, Norfolk Southern has actually risen counter-cyclically. A DHL or other industrial stocks had to give way. My company has also lost 20% in sales since the beginning of the year, although my company is diversified in automotive, electronics, consumer goods, food, bissl pharma and renewable energies or heavily involved in e-cars.

REITs are cyclical in a different way than the typical cyclicals, I would say, because they have a different time factor.

@Epi I have a lot of contact with Bosch, Siemens, Hella, Borgwarner, but also Miele and Reckit Benckiser. I use it as a business indicator 🙂
