Something in connection with withholding taxes was quite unpleasant at $TDIV because of the Netherlands, right?
...maybe one of the more knowledgeable investors can provide some input on this! 🤷♂️

@Stullen-Portfolio 15% is retained as withholding tax, but this can be reclaimed from the Dutch tax office within 3 years

@Stullen-Portfolio I think I have also read that if you have already exhausted the tax-free amount, this is even an advantage because of the Dutch withholding tax.
Edit:
15% Dutch withholding tax is withheld on every distribution. If you are above the tax-free amount, this is credited in full against the German capital gains tax. You therefore pay a total of 26.375% tax (+ any church tax). However, if you are below the tax-free amount, you will still pay withholding tax.

The withholding tax is only of interest if you do not use up the tax-free amount. If you exceed it anyway, you will pay even less tax, as the withholding tax is not calculated on the QS.

@userd0db6613d0274205 Hey I've had this ETF for years too, isn't this withholding tax already automatically adjusted by Scalable so that you don't have to/can't reclaim any tax yourself? Or am I confusing something here?
Have you ever reclaimed the 15% withholding tax? What was it like and can you recommend the best way to do this?
