Curevac ( $CVAC (+0,12 %) ) - The biotech company's third-quarter sales rose 463 percent year over year to €29.3 million. The increase in sales is mainly due to cooperations with the British pharmaceutical group GlaxoSmithKline ( $GSK ), according to the Tübingen-based company. However, Curevac's operating loss increased compared to the same period of the previous year from 36.7 million euros to 143.1 million euros. This was reportedly due to high research and development costs for its own vaccine candidate Covid-19.

Alibaba ( $2RR (-1,81 %) ) - On Thursday, no clear trend could be observed on the Asian stock exchanges. In Japan, the Topix and the 225-stock Nikkei index rose 0.4 percent. The index of leading companies in Shanghai and Shenzen also gained 0.2 percent. In contrast, the flagship Hang Seng Index in Hong Kong lost 1.8 percent as disappointing figures from Chinese tech giant Alibaba weighed heavily on the index. Japan's inflation data showed consumer prices rose 0.1 percent in October, in line with prior expectations.

Nvidia ( $NVDA (+0,07 %) ) - Yesterday, after the close of trading, NVIDIA stock rose sharply, driven by strong demand. In the past quarter, NVIDIA reported an 84% increase in earnings to $2.46 billion. NVIDIA's technology is used in artificial intelligence applications, graphics cards, and data center chips, among others. Despite the reservations expressed by competition authorities, NVIDIA is studying the proposed purchase of the British designer of chips "Arm", whose technology is used in almost all smartphones. Apple ( $AAPL (+0,53 %) ), Samsung ( $SSUN (-1,44 %) ) and Qualcomm, among others, are designing their own processors for mobile devices based on the Arm chip architecture.

Thyssenkrupp ( $TKA (-4,19 %) - The steel group thyssenkrupp is beating expectations for the fiscal year 2020/21 that just ended (end of September) with clear growth and was able to benefit from the economic recovery. Adjusted earnings before interest and taxes amounted to 769 million euros. However, shareholders will have to forego a dividend again this year. The group expects mid-single-digit percentage growth and an approximate doubling of adjusted EBIT to 1.5 to 1.8 billion euros and a surplus of at least 1 billion euros in the new financial year that has just begun.

U.S. Constitution - The online group "ConstitutionDAO" intended to buy the latest edition of the U.S. Constitution in private hands at a public auction at Sotheby's on Thursday, but failed. Instead, the edition was purchased by an unknown bidder for US$41 million. Participants in the project began only a week ago to band together as a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) to raise funds for the auction. More than US$49 million in Ethereum donations ( $ETH (+0,52 %) ) were collected via Juicebox. In return, the 17,437 backers received governance tokens called PEOPLE, which were not intended to represent fractional ownership, but to allow token owners to decide on proposals for structure, governance and operational direction.

Bitcoin ($BTC-EUR) - The most recent data shows that bitcoin holders who bought for $20,000 USD are refusing to sell BTC at the all-time high. Despite tantalizing triple gains, last November's buyers are determined to continue their "hodl" strategy. BTC buyers are keeping their cool and holding on to their coins despite various all-time highs.

Peru - The president of Peru's central bank (Julio Velarde) announced that the country is working with India, Singapore and Hong Kong to develop a central bank digital currency (CBDC). According to the Atlantic Council, 87 countries (representing over 90% of the world's GDP) are currently researching a CBDC and seven have already launched theirs. By comparison, only 35 countries intend to develop a CBDC by 2020.
