@California_Dreamin I would also like to add that only dividends are taxed. You can certainly buy shares in the hope of a price increase regardless of the dividend or taxation 😊. But that does not mean that I would buy one of the selected shares. Lg

How do you get the tax rate? Due to the double taxation agreement, this should not be the standard. Normally, only the withholding tax of 15% would be withheld in Germany and this is fully creditable against the Austrian income tax with a special tax rate of 27.5%? That's what it says at the WKO (just checked again).

@California_Dreamin how is it in Austria with shares&ETFs taxation in general? In Germany you have up to 1000€ p.a. for capital gains free and then 25% capital gains tax. +withholding tax depending on share region
