Kia's new "Platform Beyond Vehicle" (PBV) aims to provide optimized solutions for the logistics environment of the logistics provider. The PV5 will be the first model to be used in the collaboration from 2026. Further collaborations planned in key global markets. The plan is also to launch in Japan in 2026.

Hyundai subsidiary Kia Corporation (Kia) has announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding with DHL Korea Ltd. to expand the sustainable logistics ecosystem through Kia's Platform Beyond Vehicle (PBV) models. The Koreans are expanding PBV-related cooperation with a number of external partners to provide customers with comprehensive mobility solutions. The first model under the collaboration will be Kia's PV5, a mid-size PBV scheduled to launch in 2026. The model range will then be extended by Kia's large PBV model, the PV7, which is scheduled to be launched in 2027.

As part of the agreement, the aim is to develop models specially optimized for DHL Korea's business. In the medium to long term, the cooperation will be expanded to include various PBV-related solutions, such as vehicle charging and warranty service, it is further stated. This fits in with DHL Korea's plan to use 100 percent electrified mobility for its logistics business. In addition, the Korean manufacturer will explore opportunities to expand cooperation in various regions, including Asia and Europe.
