Samsung refreshes the S-Class: In the 2025 edition, Qualcomm chips are available for all models. Otherwise, the manufacturer is taking a cautious approach to the hardware and is focusing primarily on AI. Older models should also benefit from this.

Update for the S-Class: Samsung's new flagship smartphones are in the starting blocks. They mark Samsung's departure from its own processors, with all members of the S25 family receiving Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite as their system-on-chip (SoC). Its predecessor, the Snapdragon 8 Gen3, was only used in the S24 Ultra, while the S24 and S24+ were equipped with the Exynos 2400 developed in-house.

The Qualcomm chip consists of a cluster with two prime cores and another cluster with six performance cores. The prime cores reach a peak of up to 4.32 GHz, the performance cores up to 3.53 GHz. There is no higher clocked version for Galaxy smartphones this time. However, the performance should still be sufficient. We have already been able to test the Snapdragon extensively in the Asus ROG Phone 9: It is one of the fastest smartphone SoCs ever, outperforming the Apple A18 Pro in many test scenarios (CPU multicore and GPU benchmarks) and barely throttling under continuous load. The chip can access at least 12 GB of main memory in all models.

Samsung disappoints with weak quarterly figures + PepsiCo Inc. outperforms in the third quarter + SHARES IN THE FOCUS: DocMorris turns positive

The latest business figures from Samsung $SMSD (-0,96 %) fall short of market expectations. In its quarterly outlook for the months of July to September, the South Korean electronics giant assumes that the operating profit of 9.1 trillion won (around 6.1 billion euros) has increased fourfold year-on-year. However, compared to the previous second quarter of the year, profits fell by almost 13 percent. The markets reacted with disappointment. Samsung's share price fell by more than 1.3 percent immediately after the publication of the quarterly outlook. Experts attribute the comparatively weak quarterly figures to the fact that the market leader for memory chips, smartphones and televisions is currently lagging behind in the development of high-performance semiconductors in the booming AI market. In particular, direct competitors Nvidia and SK Hynix are putting Samsung under heavy pressure. The business figures are only an initial estimate. The Group will only publish more precise figures at a later date, probably at the end of the month.

• In the third fiscal quarter, Pepsico earned USD 2.9 billion, five percent less than in the same period last year, due to product recalls at Quaker Foods and lower earnings at the snack division Frito-Lay.

Now also a stock exchange traded everyday life from the view of a gynecologist.

When I get up in the morning, I first take my Dreamlens from MPG&E out of my eyes. These are hard contact lenses that you have to wear at night and then during the day WITHOUT ANYTHING have a visual acuity of 110% (in my case). I usually have minus 5.5 - and glasses and mask - you know the fuss. Unfortunately, I have found no share at all, but still did not want to withhold MY discovery of 2021.

But now really further... with my $MBG (+0,03 %) V-Class I drive half an hour to the MVZ practice in Berlin-Lichtenberg.

Arrived there my consultation nurse already has the $DELL PC and my bluetooth $LOGN (-1,66 %) Keyboard + mouse up.

Since I am @Simpson nominated, I now grant an insight into listed companies in my daily professional life.

Briefly about me: I am a mathematician and work in the semiconductor industry in a listed company.

Starting with the software: pretty much all computers in the office run Windows and Office from $MSFT (-0,09 %). The PC's and the monitors themselves are all from $HPQ with keyboard and mouse from $LOGN (-1,66 %). The telephone system is WebEx from $CSCO (-0,9 %) and the work phones are from $AAPL (-0,48 %) with $DTE (+0,47 %) contract (and that although next door $VOD (+1,08 %) sits). In addition, there are large monitors in each conference room from $DELL (-0,95 %).

In the production of the semiconductors itself there are of course many machines from $ASML (-0,77 %), $CAJ (+0,72 %) and $7731 (+0,4 %). The many industrial gases needed come from $LIN , $AI (-0,6 %) and $4091 (+0,36 %). The basic material and chemicals come among others also from $WCH (-2,32 %) and $BAS (-0,95 %).

I (still) work in the construction industry for Deutsche Bahn. 🛤

My typical workday starts with a walk to the company car, a $F (+6,61 %). If I'm not talking on my employer's $SMSD (-0,96 %) cell phone ☎️ of my employer, I like to listen to podcasts or audiobooks about $SPOT (-0,45 %). However, this is only via my personal phone from $AAPL (-0,48 %). 📱
